• Court Reporting (Southern Africa)

Reporting from court can be a daunting task for even the most seasoned reporters, but one that most journalists will face in their career. In order to report on court cases in a legally and ethically sound way, media practitioners must be familiar with courtroom protocols, structure of various courts and the rules and regulations that govern reporting from and about court proceedings. By the end of this course, participants will have the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to report from court, as well as an understanding of how to make these stories relevant beyond the courthouse. The short course consists of four modules, one test and one assignment. The course can be completed at your own pace, with up to six weeks to complete all six modules.
